Life can feel uncertain and overwhelming at times. Many people struggle to hold onto hope, fearing disappointment or loss. Yet, God calls us to remain steadfast, trusting Him even when circumstances seem impossible. At TCI Birmingham, a family church in Birmingham UK, we believe that hope and faith are the foundations of a strong, resilient life.
1) Hold On To Hope
Proverbs 23:17-18 Don’t envy sinners but always continue to fear the Lord. You will be rewarded for this; your hope will not be disappointed.
What are you hoping for? What are you expecting in life? Are you looking for something good to happen or are you expecting to be disappointed? So many people are feeling hopeless these days. However, Jesus did not die for us to be hopeless. He died so that we could be full of hope, hope for today and hope for the future. The devil wants to steal your hope, and he will lie to you. He will tell you that nothing good can happen in your life or that the things you care about won’t last. If you’re struggling with a difficult situation, he will tell you it will never end. But you have to stay full of hope and remember that the devil is a liar. God can change everything! God is good, and He has good plans for your life. If you will maintain your hope, especially during troubled and uncertain times, He has promised to help you to give you double for your trouble. So, refuse to give up hope. Start expecting God to do something and something good.
2) Trusting God Through the Journey
Psalms 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
We often think of trusting God for things we need or want, but a true relationship of trust in God extends beyond trusting Him just to get something. We need to learn to trust Him through the process of attaining those things we desire. Getting all the things we want is not the most important issue in our life. It is important for us to trust God enough to walk through situations with stability and with a good attitude on a consistent basis. We need to learn that God may not always rescue us when we want to get out of circumstances, but He is always with us as we walk through them. God does not always deliver us from everything when we think He should, but He is always with us. Today, instead of focusing on just the end result, understand that God is with you now. He is near to you, so trust Him to walk with you through the process.
3) Safe in God’s Everlasting Arms
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you.
Take a moment and imagine a child being held and wrapped in the arms of his/her parent and just being loved. Now transfer that imagery to yourself being wrapped in the arms of God. Sinking into His protection and love and giving all your cares to Him. God is not distant or unapproachable. He wants to comfort you as a father comforts his child. He wants to protect you like a mother hen who gathers her chicks beneath her wings. He will provide sanctuary for you when troubles come, with His everlasting arms, He will place you out of reach on a high rock. When you lean on God’s everlasting arms, you’re safe, secure, protected and loved. Feel God’s arm around you today and draw strength from His love. God loves you.
